Singapore Institute of Technology graduates have performed well in the job market — an indication that employees recognize the quality of education they have received.
In addition, a growing number of students from SIT are taking on part-time, freelance or contract work.
In its latest graduate employment survey, SIT said close to 90 per cent of the class of 2016 secured jobs, with an average monthly salary of $3,200.
The number of graduates working part-time had also climbed to 12 per cent.
In similar graduate employment surveys conducted by the Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore and Singapore Management University, the number of graduates who took up part time employment was also shown to be on the rise.
Nearly 90 per cent of the graduates of NUS, NTU and SMU found work within six months of finishing their examinations.
