Students who graduated from private schools in 2014 are being surveyed by the Council for Private Education (CPE) to find out the jobs they secured and at what wage level upon graduation.
The CPE said that the information collected will help guide future policy formulation for matters related to manpower and employment outcomes.
There are many who quit their jobs to focus full-time on getting their first degree, only to find out upon graduation that they have to compete against fresh grads who are willing to settle for lower salaries.
As part of the national SkillsFuture movement, the Government has been steering people away from merely chasing degrees, to acquiring practical, specialised skills.
