When private school M2 Academy announced its sudden closure last month due to financial insolvency, it said it would arrange for its students and teachers to go to two other educational institutions. However, many lecturers have been left in the lurch as their modules had been discontinued by PSB Academy and Kaplan.

M2 is affiliated to the University of South Australia (UniSA).

The Council of Private Education (CPE) and the Ministry of Manpower said that they do not regulate private schools’ handling of employee and employer issues, and their lecturers are not covered by the Employment Act.
