An application has been presented to the High Court for a Declaration that
Article 49(1) of the Constitution is mandatory in its requirement that the vacancy in Parliament for a Member from Jurong GRC be filled by a by-election for his seat and the by-election should be held within 3 months from the seat becoming vacant.
The application will be heard on the 15th October 2008 at 10 am. I shall be arguing the application.
